SANTA FE – The Santa Fe Children’s Museum was selected winner of The Life Center Foundation’s Leadership Award for 2021 earlier this month, also earning a $20,000 grant from the foundation.
The award is given out each year to a local nonprofit organization that benefits families in poverty. A news release says that the museum was recognized for its community garden program, which teaches children the basics of seeding and cultivating vegetables. ....

Life Center Foundation Leadership Award 2020 on hold

And the winner is … going to have to wait until the coronavirus pandemic subsides. The Life Center Foundation has put the presentation of its Leadership Award for 2021 on hold for now.
But to make it worth the wait, the foundation is doubling the award given to a nonprofit organization that benefits families living in poverty to $20,000.
Marjorie Miller-Engel, who founded the Life Center Foundation in 1982, says the hope is to do the awards ceremony in person with all the finalists present, as they always have. The ceremony for the 2020 award was held last February at the Governor’s Mansion, and the group was hoping to do it there again. ....
