Please could you take this opportunity to do away with the outdated practice of including the word ‘Sir’ at the beginning of every letter printed in the paper?
This practice implies that the editor must always be male, which is both irritating and clearly false. It is a ridiculous and offensive tradition. Besides, the gender of the editor is totally immaterial. Many newspapers, both national and local, have dropped this practice. ....

THE Worcester News is running a campaign which aims to help people find a new job.
Over six weeks, our Getting Worcester Back to Work campaign will be highlighting how jobseekers can find employment, consider alternative careers or begin retraining.
Throughout the six weeks, we will also be offering free job adverts – in our newspaper and on our website – to employers which are recruiting, to help them find the right candidates.
During the campaign, we ll be publishing articles which provide advice and ideas for people looking for a new job as well as employers seeking to recruit. ....

AS we finally ease out of lockdown, The Shuttle has once again launched its campaign to support local businesses.
We are launching our Love Local Business campaign to encourage people to spend their money locally as they emerge from months of restrictions and closure.
Love Local Business follows on from the successful campaign, of the same name, which we ran in The Shuttle last summer and over Christmas.
The aim is to promote all the fantastic traders we have in our towns and urge our readers to give them their custom at this key time as the struggle to overcome the financial implications of the pandemic. ....
