“We donate interest and fund earnings every year to worthy local charities through an application process,” explained Rathgeber.
Since 2016 the Foundation’s asset base grew from $10,000.00 to $350,000, due to generous community support. The principal is professionally and conservatively managed by outside professional investment counsel.
The annual interest and earnings on the principal amount presently provided charitable grants totaling between $10,000 and $15,000 per year. However, application requests from worthy charities always exceed the ability to fund all requests in full. ....

The Airdrie Community Foundation rolled out over $12,000 in charitable grants to four separate organizations, announcing the recipients on May 7.
Airdrie and District Victims’ Assistance Society received $4,082 to go towards volunteer training, Bethany Seniors Society got $3,500 to host a music therapy program, Peer Mediation and Skills Training (PMAST) received $3,350 to host a program in partnership with the Thumbs Up Foundation for families struggling with conflict, and the Airdrie Public Library got $1,225 from the John and Peggy Graham Fund.
