3-Week EDP under Himayat scheme concludes at JKEDI Budgam

Special sectoral training was also provided to the trainees during the three-week EDP with active support from the District Animal Husbandry office. A field-visit of the trainees to the successful business ventures in the district was also part of the training program.
In the next phase, the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of the trained candidates shall be prepared by the Institute for their respective activities to be followed by preparation of financial appraisals and another related process for disbursement of funds to enable the trained candidates establish their business ventures for a dignified livelihood.
The program was coordinated by JKEDI District Centre, Budgam while the training was imparted by a team of trainers including Ashan Qadir, Communication Associate, Bilal Ahmad Dar, Assistant Faculty and Naiyer Amin, Assistant Faculty. ....

SAS Nagar (Punjab) [India], January 23 (ANI): As many as 17,600 birds were culled on Saturday at Alfa Poultry Farm in Dera Bassi of Punjab s SAS Nagar.
To prevent the spread of the Avian Influenza, 17,600 birds were culled on the second day of culling operation in the area preceded by culling of 11,200 birds on Friday, informed Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan.
The District Animal Husbandry officials have been directed to ensure proper disposal of the carcass, the Deputy Commissioner said.
Workforce to the tune of 125 men and 15 labourers conducted the operation wherein two JCBs were deployed while 3 fire guns, 10 foggers, and 10 Jet Suction Machines along with 10,000 kg lime has been made available for the ensuing sanitization. ....

Maharashtra: Around 220 domestic chicken found dead in Palghar | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: After Mumbai and Thane, around 220 American breed domestic chicken and a few crows were found dead in villages in Palghar district. The samples have been sent for testing for bird flu.
Last week, samples of birds found dead in Mumbai’s Chembur and Thane tested positive for avian influenza. Maharashtra along with states like Gujarat, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Kerala has confirmed bird flu deaths.
In Girale village of Palghar, a poultry farm owner reported the death of around 220 Rhode Island Red (RIR) chicken on Monday. District Animal Husbandry officer Dr Ajit Hirve confirmed the deaths and said that five samples of RIR have been sent for testing to Animal Diseases Investigation department in Pune and the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases in Bhopal. ....
