MIFFLINBURG — A little entrepreneurship proved worthwhile this year in Mifflinburg.
After the in-person 2020 Mifflinburg Christkindl Market was canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of nonprofit entities opened a couple of pop-up stores. Their desire was in part to keep the spirit of the annual German-style market alive.
Doors will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18 and Saturday, Dec. 19. at both the The Christkindl Gift Shop (508 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg) and The Artisan Corner Co-op (500 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg).

The event was organized by the Mifflinburg Heritage and Revitalization Association, Gutelius House and Mifflinburg Buggy museums after the annual three-day Mifflinburg Christkindl Market was canceled.

Christmas in Mifflinburg


MIFFLINBURG — Though not exactly as in days of yore, the streets of Mifflinburg will again be ringing with holiday cheer.
Christmas in Mifflinburg, a small-scale holiday crafts festival will open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Saturday, Dec. 12 in an area encompassed by The Gutelius House Museum, the Elias Center and the Mifflinburg Buggy Museum (Fifth Street, Green Street, Quarry Road).
Organizers, including the Mifflinburg Heritage and Revitalization Association (MHRA), the Gutelius House Museum and the Mifflinburg Buggy Museum, agreed that a small event would be more practical in 2020. It would also make complying with state and federal social distancing requirements easier. Facial covering will be the best accessory to wear to the two-day event. ....

The annual Christkindl Market was canceled because of the pandemic, so a smaller event is taking place this weekend in Mifflinburg.

MIFFLINBURG, Pa. Christkindl Market is a longtime tradition in downtown Mifflinburg, but this year s event was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This community, not just the vendors who come here to vend, but businesses outside of here also rely on this income to get them through the winter. A lot of the food vendors do actually rely on what they make in these three days to get them through January, February, March, said Heidi Criswell, executive director of the Mifflinburg Heritage and Revitalization Association. ....
