Developer seeks community input for future of historic Bath building

The Grant Building in downtown Bath was a big part of the community for the better part of a century, and developer Sean Ireland is hoping to bring it back, with the community s help.
Ireland, of Windward Development, is looking for input as he develops the 25,000-square-foot building, one of the final ones in the 18-building Sagadahock Real Estate Association downtown portfolio to be sold.
Redevelopment of the building that began life as a department store and was most recently an indoor park will require a variety of partners, Ireland said. 
“This kind of project has a long runway, he said in a news release. One of the challenges is how do you get a large project like this ‘off the ground’ it takes a lot of due diligence and persistence and some creativity. ....

Winthrop town manager faces claims of ‘bullying’ after 2 employees resign
Members of the town council said no grievances were filed by the employees who resigned, which could have triggered formal council action.

WINTHROP Town Manager Jeffrey Kobrock faces claims of bullying and harassing behavior following the resignations of two office employees, including one who had worked there for nearly two decades.
Town Clerk Lauri Carson, who resigned March 15 after 18 years of working for the town, wrote in documents obtained by the Kennebec Journal that she was subjected to “harassment, discrimination, bullying, and a severe lack of honesty” during Kobrock’s tenure as manager the past two years. In a separate letter addressed to the Winthrop Town Council, Carson wrote that “I can no longer work for a man who treats me the way he does. … I no longer have the heart to be mistreated in his closed door meetings any longer.” ....
