The wife of a Brisbane man crushed by falling scaffolding while watching their son’s soccer match is devastated by the loss of her husband.
Police said witnesses saw the incident at the Mitchelton Football Club, where the scaffolding – used as a platform for video recording during matches – fell shortly after midday on Sunday.
Andy Jones, 37, was killed at Brisbane’s Mitchelton Football Club on Sunday afternoon when scaffolding collapsed.

Two men have appeared in a Queensland court charged with murder over last week’s death of Jakob Opacic, the brother of Parramatta Eels centre and ex-Brisbane Bronco Tom Opacic.
Mr Opacic, 28, was declared dead at the scene after he came off his motorbike about three kilometres south of Numinbah Correctional Centre, on Nerang Murwillumbah Road at Natural Bridge in the Gold Coast hinterland on Friday morning.
