Checking in with Crookston Times former interns: Where are they now?

If you’re a bit confused by the headline that appears above these words, you’re likely not alone, so let me explain:
In one of the four sections that make up the Crookston Times’ 2021 Community Connections special edition, you will find profiles in a sort of “Where are they now?” vein of 17 former Times summer interns and student writers/photographers who occupied our newsroom during the school year, not for pay like in the summer but instead for academic credit, through a partnership with Crookston High School.
I wasn’t able to track down every single intern or student writer who’s spent time at the Times, but of the 18 I was able to find, all but one was able to participate in this special edition by answering a series of questions I came up with and also submitting some of their favorite photos. Each former intern/student writer was asked the same half-dozen or so questions, but then, based on things I know about them personal ....

Duluth Public Schools officials are refusing to release the purchase agreement for Historic Old Central High School to the News Tribune, violating data practice laws.

Duluth Public Schools officials have been in violation of state data practice laws for weeks as the News Tribune has repeatedly been denied access to the purchase agreement of Historic Old Central High School.
On Oct. 13, the Duluth School Board unanimously approved moving forward with the sale of Historic Old Central and gave administrators the authority to negotiate a purchase agreement with developer Saturday Properties. ....

Fargo, Cass County law enforcement join agencies going silent on police scanners


In addition to hobbyists like Nordstrom, news organizations also monitor scanners to learn about emergencies and other critical incidents in real time incidents like high-speed chases and armed standoffs.
