The only person to serve as chief of the Miami Valley Fire District since it was formed has announced his retirement effective June 25.
The Fire District Board of Trustees is expected to accept Matthew Queen’s resignation at its regular meeting of May 13.
Queen was appointed as chief in 2012 when officials from the city of Miamisburg and Miami Twp. created the district to provide fire and emergency medical service to both jurisdictions. He had previously served three years as Miami Twp.’s fire chief and six years as its deputy chief. ....

Initial plans for a Post Acute Medical to be constructed in Miamisburg have been modified. Instead of 42 beds inside a 1-story facility like the one shown here, the facility will have 62 beds inside a 2-story facility.
A Pennsylvania-based chain will construct a larger-than-planned post-acute rehabilitation hospital in Miamisburg.
Post Acute Medical initially proposed bringing a 42-bed, one-story facility to a nearly 5.2-acre property on the southeast corner of Alexandersville Road and Crosspointe Drive, according to City Planner Ryan Homsi. Revised plans call for a 62-bed, two-story facility. ....
