Police identify mother and son killed in Northern Michigan murder-suicide

MISSAUKEE COUNTY, MI – Police have identified a 30-year-old man who shot his 62-year-old mother before turning the gun on himself in Northern Michigan.
According to troopers from the Michigan State Police Houghton Lake Post, Patricia Lynn Briggs was found dead with a gunshot wound inside her home on North Seven Mile Road in Missaukee County’s West Branch Township on April 3.
Troopers quickly developed a suspect, her son, Adam Prichard Briggs from Lake City, and put out a broadcast alert. The Cadillac Police Department located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, April 4. ....
