Experts with Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center see the light at the end of the COVID tunnel, as a large number of people have now been vaccinated, and CRDAMC prepares for the future.
âTo see the leadership â from the hospital commander, from the Fort Hood command team â and how everyone worked together to protect the force and did whatâs best, was amazing,â Lt. Col. Raymond Jaklitsch, deputy commander for health readiness, said.
Jaklitsch said that one of the biggest changes people will see when they come to CRDAMC is the lack of COVID screening at the front entrance. He explained that the screening will be conducted at the individual clinics instead. All the entrances have reopened, instead of filtering everyone through the front entrance, including the entrances from the parking garages.

The changes to Gate 8 come as more guards will be moved to Gate 3 Redstone Road, which will be open starting April 12, Monday through Friday from
5:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for inbound traffic and from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for outbound traffic.Â
As a result of the changes, Gate 9 will be the only 24-hour installation access point after April 12, while Gate 10 Patton Road will remain closed.Â
