Murder cops launched an investigation after the discovery at West Princes Street on Tuesday at around 4pm. Cops have now revealed that the 67-year-old woman was Esther Brown, who was well known in the area for her charity work with a local church and food banks. It was revealed that the investigating team are not ruling out someone who doesn t live locally as Ms Brown s potential attacker, and that cops are trying to piece together the scene. A post-mortem is still ongoing. In a statement, Detective Superintendent Suzie Chow, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Teams and senior investigating officer, said: “Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding Esther’s death continues and our thoughts remain with her family and friends at this difficult time.
