UFC on Fox 15: Machida vs. Rockhold Results

UFC on Fox 15: Machida vs. Rockhold from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
In the night’s main event, former light heavyweight champion and recent middleweight title challenger Lyoto Machida clashed with former Strikeforce middleweight kingpin Luke Rockhold. The Brazilian Machida bounced back from a hard-fought decision loss to current champion Chris Weidman by dismantling C.B. Dollaway in just 62 seconds in December. Rockhold, meanwhile, entered the Octagon riding a three-fight winning streak. The 30-year-old had scored three straight finishes, including a submission win over Michael Bisping in the UFC Fight Night 55 main event in November.
The co-main event featured an unexpected rematch as another former Strikeforce middleweight title holder, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, once again faced off with Chris Camozzi. The pair met previously in May of 2013, with the Brazilian Souza scoring a first-round submission. Souza had not tasted defeat since and was expected to ....

LONDON (Reuters) - Earnings at Europe’s biggest listed companies in the first quarter of 2021 are expected to surge 83.1% from a year earlier, according to Refinitiv I/B/E/S data, as the continent’s economy recovers from the downturn caused by the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic a year ago.
The data, published on Tuesday with the first quarter earnings season in full swing, would mark the best quarter for European stocks since I/B/E/S records began nine years ago and represents a jump compared to last week’s forecast of a 71.3% jump and 61.2% a week before that. ....

Local Matters - Councillor questions poll results

Councillor questions poll results
Auckland Councillor John Watson disagrees with Mayor Phil Goff’s view that the recent Council-commissioned Colmar Brunton poll shows public endorsement for its 10-year budget proposals.
The Mayor’s views are stated in Viewpoint.
Cr Watson says the poll, which cost ratepayers $110,000, was flawed in that it mentioned only the average five percent increase in general rates, but not a raft of other charges including the proposed Watercare rates increase of seven percent for two years (9.5 percent for six years after that). The proposed sale of $210m of public assets was also not included.
Cr Watson says breaking down the poll figures also reveals that most residents of the Hibiscus & Bays Local Board area did not support the budget, although it was close – 47 percent opposed, and 44 percent in support. Region-wide it was 37 percent opposed and 46 percent in support. ....

Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 56% to US$468m from US$300m. Revenue and sales volumes increased fastest in Nigeria but earnings increased faster in the rest of Africa.
“We took the strategic decision to pause our clinker exports to ensure we meet the rapid volume growth in the Nigerian domestic market. We are improving the output of our existing and new assets and aim to recommence clinker exports in the second quarter,” said Michel Puchercos, the company’s chief executive officer. He added that the company had also ramped-up its new 3Mt/yr O ....
