Congress passed the package late Monday night, and now it is awaiting the president’s signature. This bill is a long time coming for unemployed Floridians, as many have been in fear of losing their benefits on December 26, when the CARES Act programs expire. The bill calls for an 11-week extension on federal CARES Act programs like Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation. The bill will provide will also provide an additional $300 weekly federal supplement to go with unemployment payments. ....
