City man charged in two separate disturbances Brandon Hipple’s voice was so loud that it “could be heard echoing off the houses throughout the entire 1000 block of Baldwin Street,” according to an affidavit filed by city Patrolman Thomas Bortz. Officers were dispatched to Hipple’s home at 1027 Baldwin St. about 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 14 after two neighbors were awakened by Hipple “yelling at the top of his lungs,” Bortz said police were told. This had been going on for more than three hours beginning the night before, the officer said. Hipple, 29, came out of his house and threatened to “commit crimes of violence” towards his neighbors, Bortz alleged in court papers. ....
May 7, 2021 Borough council turned down a request from the Muncy Veterans of Foreign Wars to host a Memorial Day parade due to several obstacles due to compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation policy. According to Borough Council President Ed Feigles, the VFW asked the borough to stand in as an engineer to obtain a permit for the event from PennDOT, however as a municipality the borough is unable to do so. Feigles said Additionally, borough council does not know what condition the intended route would be in given planned construction during that time. If the road is milled but not paved, the road itself will be uneven and would have uncertain safety conditions. ....
pholmes@sungazette.com A brief high-speed pursuit through Loyalsock Township with state police late Thursday night ended when motorist Wykir Richardson lost control of his 2021 Toyota Rav4, which jumped the curb and struck a guardrail at Four Mile Drive and Warran Avenue, according to court records. Richardson, 19, of Penn Hills, Allegheny County, bailed out of the SUV and took off running as did his two passengers, but all three were quickly nabbed, police said. One passenger, not identified in court papers, was taken by ambulance to UPMC Williamsport to be treated for injuries he suffered in the 11:30 p.m. crash. ....

The current borough hall is a historic building in a floodplain and is not accessible to disabled residents. So, the borough council is working on finding the best location for a borough hall either through construction, expansion or renovation. An option standing at the fore of the borough’s conversation is purchasing the Muncy Area Volunteer Fire Company’s fire hall, which it intends to sell, and renovating it. However, Borough Council President Ed Feigle said the costs may be too high. The fire department is asking for $275,000, but Feigle anticipates renovations to make the building functional as a borough hall might push the total cost up to half a million dollars. ....
