Bengaluru, May 9 : Karnataka Forest Minister Arvind Limbavali on Sunday urged Bengaluru s 198 civic ward committees to contain the surging Covid cases.
I request volunteers, NGOs, resident welfare associations (RWAs) and the public to join hands with the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in curbing the virus spread, said Limbavali at the first virtual meeting of the committees on ward decentralised triage and emergency response here. ....

JAMMU, May 7: In a testimony of non-serious approach on the part of the Health and Medical Education Department and Rural Development Department, the Health Clubs which were announced to be set up at the Panchayat level across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in order to check spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) to the rural areas have remained on official papers only despite the lapse of several months.
The slack approach has invited sharp criticism from the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), which have held the same responsible for reporting of large number of COVID-19 cases and resultant deaths from the villages during the second wave. ....

GHMC Identifies Nearly 1,500 Residents With Covid Symptoms

As per the orders of Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, a door-to-door survey has been taken up in the GHMC limits. A total of 641 teams, comprising field-level workers from the GHMC and the Health Department, covered 40,000 households in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.
A total of 1,487 individuals were found to have fever and other Covid-19 symptoms. The individuals were given Covid kits and have been advised to stay in home isolation.
The teams of field level workers comprise an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), and an official from the Entomology wing of the GHMC. ....
