West Coast panel endorses Pfizer vaccine as rollout begins
OAKLAND A West Coast scientific group reviewing Covid-19 vaccines for California and three other states determined Sunday the Pfizer vaccine is safe for widespread use.
California, Washington, Oregon and Nevada this fall tasked the safety group of experts to provide an additional layer of review beyond the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, a sign of blue-state skepticism of Republican President Donald Trump s vaccine rollout. Governors in the four states also wanted to add another layer of assurance to residents who might be hesitant to get immunized. ....
