Doña Ana County doubles holiday card goal for seniors

About 2,500 holiday cards were collected from the community for seniors living in aging and long-term care facilities in Doña Ana County.
LAS CRUCES – The Las Cruces community helped the New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department exceed their goal of 1,000 holiday cards for the seniors living in Doña Ana County nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
The letter campaign was an effort to ensure roughly 1,000 senior facility residents in the county received at least one holiday card this season. The COVID-19 pandemic has kept families from visiting their loved ones in person for much of this year, so the state department’s goal was to bring some holiday cheer to the residents and let them know they have not been forgotten. ....
