PLANS to freeze Mersey Tunnel tolls and the city region s Mayoral Tax Precept have been approved this afternoon.
The move - approved during the Combined Authority’s budget meeting - aims to help residents hit by the Covid pandemic.
It means that when residents get their council tax bills in March, the Metro Mayoral Precept will remain at £12.67 for a Band A property (£19.00 for a Band D property) for the second year in a row.
Mersey Tunnel Tolls for City Region residents will remain at £1 for those using a Fast Tag and £1.80 for those paying by cash or contactless. ....

FREEZES on Mersey Tunnel tolls and the city region s Mayoral Tax Precept are being proposed in a bid to help residents hit by the Covid pandemic.
The Transport levy paid by the city region’s six local authorities - which includes Wirral - would also be frozen if Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram s plans are approved during the Combined Authority’s budget meeting is on Friday, January 22.
