The New Zealand sharemarket was a little edgy and fell nearly 1 per cent as it awaited Friday s unique exchange traded funds activity in the leading energy stocks, Contact and Meridian.
The S&P/NZX 50 Index
closed at 12,636.55, down 114.83 points or 0.9 per cent on solid volume of 64.6 million share transactions worth $219.62 million. The index fell from an early morning burst that reached 12,770.83 points. ....

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A water outage is impacting homes in Huntsville tonight.
Officials with Huntsville Utilities are responding a water break on Meridian Street from Winchester Road north to Memorial Parkway.

Crews are working to restore water to homes in the area, but say it is expected to take between five to six hours. ....

Further selling in Contact Energy and Meridian on the New Zealand sharemarket outweighed sharp gains in stocks benefiting from the introduction of a transtasman travel bubble.
There was heavy trading in the leading energy renewable
stocks as the offshore exchange trade funds rebalance their weightings in the S&P Global Clean Energy Index.
This resulted in the S&P/NZX 50 Index falling 87.82 points or 0.7 per cent to 12,400.48 on volume of 97.6 million share transactions worth $207.54 million. There were 74 gainers and 63 decliners over the whole market. ....
