This week marks the 40th anniversary of the National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, and a local nonprofit organization aims to spread awareness of services it provides to victims. The Marshall County Resiliency Center (MCRC), managed by the Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center, invited local elected officials, law enforcement officers, invested community partners and local media this afternoon to ask for help in increasing awareness.
Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center has added a new member to its board of directors.
Amanda Chandler currently works as an account executive at Swift & Staley. Although she joins the agency as a new board member, she has previous working knowledge of the program after being a part of its volunteer base.
She brings with her excitement for forging new community partnerships and collaborations, strengthening the agencyâs existing volunteer base and a passion for crisis intervention.
âOne of the best parts about serving as a non-profit director is getting to meet the best of the best in our communities,â said Executive Director Dr. Mary Foley. âThe Board of Directors of MHDCC is charged with chief governance of this incredible organization. I am so honored to welcome Amanda Chandler to our team, and we are so grateful to her for her willingness to bring her time, talents and treasures to serve the victims of domestic violence in the Purchase Region.â
