Swansboro, The Friendly City by the Sea, is home to 3,217 people going based off of the 2019 United States Census Bureau. Its small but just like the slogan, many locals who call Swansboro home describe the experience as friendly . This year’s smaller Glocester Ancients & Horribles Independence Day Parade made its way down Putnam Pike on Saturday, July 4. With the usual parade canceled due to the pandemic, the committee wanted to keep the tradition alive, as well as the 94-year streak, by presenting a parade of mostly municipal vehicles and cars.
