High Tea with the Symphony was filled with classical music, beautiful dresses, and of course, the full afternoon tea spread. Well in between the festivities, a few moms and their children took the time to share what motherhood means to them.
Attorney and ShePower mentor, Candace Neal opened the High Tea with the Symphony Mother’s Day event at Upstart Village with a letter to her mother from her younger self.
“I hope that the girls out there and mothers out there can identify with different parts of what I shared, and see still with their shepower that they can still transform their life,” Candace Neal said. ....

Leia Barrett s classical music take on a classic children s story is delighting audiences.
Music tells a story. When performing for young listeners, though, it can be difficult to blend storytelling and classical music in an engaging, age-appropriate way.
To fill that need, Leia Barrett, a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, has tapped her experience as the director of education with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra to develop a series of musical children’s books one of which is currently available to view on demand as part of the “Eat, Drink, Play!” series produced at Johnson County Community College. ....
