MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio The Mayfield Heights Police Department on Thursday arrested a Streetsboro man who allegedly sent inappropriate pictures of himself to a 13-year-old boy via Snapchat and showed up at the minor s home.
John D. Ruedinger, 42, has been charged with Disseminating Matter Harmful to Juveniles, a fifth-degree felony.
According to officials, the incident happened on Sunday, April 25, when police were called to the home of the 13-year-old boy. The boy s parents told officials that their son has been contacted via the photo-sending social media app by what they believed to be an adult male who sent explicit photos of himself to the child.

Cleveland, OH - On Sunday, April 25, 2021, Mayfield Heights Police responded to a residence for a report of a sex offense. The parents of a thirteen year old juvenile reported that their son was contacted via SnapChat by what they believed to be an adult male who sent inappropriate photographs of himself.
The same adult male also appeared at the residence of the juvenile in the early morning hours.
After further investigation, Mayfield Heights Police identified the subject as 42-year old John D. Ruediger from Streetsboro. Ruediger was arrested on April, 29, and charged with Disseminating Matter Harmful to Juveniles, a Felony of the 5th degree. Additional charges may be presented to the Grand Jury.

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio Mayor Anthony DiCicco has announced that Mayfield Heights is instituting a new diversity and inclusion initiative designed to promote the city’s growing demographics.
The initiative seeks to recognize demographic changes by enhancing awareness and collaboration between Mayfield Heights’ businesses, employees and residents with an expressed goal of creating opportunities for a growing number of individuals.
