DMC virtual fundraiser benefits Emergency Relief Fund and academic programs, ends Friday Patrick Johnstone/KRIS 6 News By: Patrick Johnstone and last updated 2021-04-27 14:35:19-04 CORPUS CHRSITI, Texas â Del Mar College has a goal of raising $90,000 this year for âBernieâs Spring Bash.â The money raised will benefit six academic programs, as well as the schoolâs Student Emergency Aid program. The event, named for the late local philanthropist Bernie Paulson, is typically a crawfish boil fundraiser. However, due to COVID-19, the last two years the fundraiser has been exclusively online. âLast year we innovated, just like everybody. We still had our âBernieâs Spring Bash,â is how we called it. No crawfish, no in-person meetings, but our small business supporters were tremendously generous, and people donated over $75,000, all of which helps students here at Del Mar College,â said Matthew B ....
