Grela came up with a career-best 25 points in her final regular-season high school girls basketball game, leading the Yellowjackets to a 68-48 rout of Burr & Burton on Friday night. The victory guaranteed the Jacks (8-1) a minimum of a top-three seed for the start of the VPA Division III state tournament next week. Grela sank four of Windsor’s nine 3-pointers in a superior performance. Elliot Rupp had 12 points, and Peyton Richardson netted eight. ....

After a delayed start for all of Vermont, the Wildcats had to wait a little longer due to a case of COVID-19 in the school. But at Rivendell on Monday, White River Valley earned a 59-44 season-opening victory in a VPA Division IV showdown. The two teams clashed in last season’s quarterfinals with the Raptors advancing. The Wildcats pulled out the win this time, however, thanks to game-high 22 points from Carder Stratton. Weston Trombly had 13 more. ....
