Mount Vernon s comptroller is blaming the city s Mayor for the unpaid bills that have led to a state of emergency meaning the city s fire and public works vehicles have been put out of service.
NEW YORK - The streets of Mount Vernon appear to be cleaned up, but the drama is still unfolding.
It is a crisis and we’ve been operating in crisis mode probably for the last decade, said Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard.
