What happens when a conservative, Christian woman in small town Texas learns that her daughter is gender-queer?
âBy the way, Iâm not a girl, Mama. Or, Iâm not all girl. Iâm a boy, too.â
These words, recounted by the mother Trisha Lee, launch the one woman play, âThe Pink Unicorn.â
It opened as a staged reading at Grandstreet Theatre Thursday, Jan. 28 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 14, with Thursday through Saturday evening shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.
The topic couldnât be more timely or urgent.
One need look no further than proposed bills at the Montana Legislature.

Their new project reimagined their 2019 album, âFrontera Norte,â in the style of dub, a genre of electronic music that originated in Jamaican reggae studios in the late 1960s and â70s and was further popularized by British bands like The Clash, The Police and UB40.
The resulting record, âFrontera de Dub,â will be released on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp and other online platforms on Jan. 29.
