Port Of Spain – Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has been discharged from hospital after spending two nights there.
Rowley, who was hospitalised on Friday after experiencing “discomfort”, underwent two heart procedures – an angiogram and angioplasty on Saturday.
A brief statement from the Office of the Prime Minister on Sunday said: “The Office of the Prime Minister is pleased to advise that Prime Minister, Dr the Hon. Keith Rowley has been discharged from Westshore Medical Hospital and is now at home resting comfortably. The Prime Minister was assessed by his doctors this morning and given the all clear to return home. We thank all those who sent messages of well wishes and kept the prime minister in their prayers.” ....

Dr Rowley ‘resting comfortably’ after angioplasty, set for second night in hospital
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is set for a second night at the West Shore Medical Hospital, after feeling discomfort on Friday evening. However, a release from the Office of the Prime Minister said he is ‘resting comfortably’ and that his medical procedures today went well.
“The prime minister underwent an angiogram and a subsequent angioplasty which went well,” stated the release. “In accordance with normal medical procedure, the prime minister will be kept for further observation overnight.”

On Saturday, the Prime Minister underwent an angiogram and angioplasty at West Shore Medical Hospital after experiencing some “discomfort” on Friday.
The medical history of Dr Rowley, 71, has shown evidence of arterial plaque. The discovery was made in 2016 when he had tests in the US for prostate cancer.
The fact that he had both procedures in one day yesterday indicates that the condition was severe, according to a doctor, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. ....
