HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WECT) - A Brunswick County teen and his older brother both drowned Sunday in the Intracoastal Waterway, a Horry County coroner announced Tuesday.
Johnnie Magbie, 19, of Supply, and Ahykeem Jones, 28, were identified as the victims. Magbie was a student and football standout at West Brunswick High School.
According to the coroner, Jones fell into the water from a boat in which he was riding with several members of his family near Pelican Bay landing just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday. ....

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) A North Carolina high school football player and his brother have been identified as the two boaters whose bodies have been found in the Intracoastal Waterway in South Carolina, a coroner said.
Horry County Coroner Tamara Willard said Ahykeem Jones, 28, fell into the water from a boat he was riding in with several members of his family near Pelican Bay landing around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, news outlets reported. Willard said Jones’ brother, Johnnie Magbie, 19, jumped in after Jones, but neither of them resurfaced. ....

SHALLOTTE, N.C. (WECT) - After a horrific crash with a tractor trailer on November 11, 2020, Shallotte Police Officer Heather Newman says her two sons have made ‘miraculous’ recoveries.
It was the sort of scene that stops time for a parent.
Shane and River Mahler were in the car together when they collided with the truck.
The boys were taken to separate hospitals and then transferred to facilities prepared to further care for them. ....
