St Albans care home gifted mini bus | Herts Advertiser

Management and staff at Grace Muriel House are delighted with their new acquisition and are already busy planning for residents once lockdown restrictions are lifted.

A 17-seater mini bus has been donated to a residential care home in St Albans.
The wheelchair accessible vehicle, which has been donated to the society by the West Herts Charity Trust, is the 12th such vehicle that the trust has donated to organisations providing care for the elderly. In total, the charity has supplied 110 vehicles since the charity started in 1969.
The minibus represents the first step in a more far-reaching strategy for the Abbeyfield St Albans Society. Chairman George Ashworth said: “After a year of restrictions, the West Herts Charity Trust is now enabling us to bring a whole new dimension to the services we provide. ....

One Vision offers free trips to Covid vaccination centres

One Vision has teamed up with various local partners to offer free transportation to local vaccination centres.
In a push to help those eligible for vaccines get to their nearest vaccination centre, the community charity has partnered with Watford Hub, Met Coaches and the British Union Conference to sort out minibus journeys.
The service is free and is likely to be useful to vulnerable patients who need a safe way to travel to their vaccination centre.
Jim McManus, director of Public Health for Hertfordshire, has praised the scheme and said: “I just wanted to say that getting a vaccination is probably one of the most important things in a pandemic to protect yourself when you’re eligible. ....
