TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - Over 10,000 shots of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana since Texas state leaders declared it a hub three months ago.
The results are positive for the community and health care providers.
“We are finally at a point in Texarkana where we can say that the number of people we have vaccinated has had a positive effect on our community,” said Dr. Loren Robinson, VP Medical Affairs.
Christus St. Michael Health Center, like other health care providers, has been affected by COVID-19. While treating patients many front-line workers have been infected with the virus. However, here at this Texarkana hospital employees began receiving a COVID vaccine this past December, and leaders are pleased with the results. ....

TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson is requesting providers in the Coronavirus Vaccine Program to schedule extra hours this weekend to make up for lost time resulting from a week of extreme weather. Across the state line in Texas, one major provider says no to this weekend but that they should catch up within the next ten days.
Earlier this month the State of Texas made Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana a regional hub for administering the Moderna vaccine to people 65 and older and those with underlying health issues. The first vaccination clinic was held last weekend. ....

TEXARKANA (KSLA) - The second vaccine to fight the coronavirus is already being sent to frontline medical workers throuhgout the country. And some ArkLaTex health leaders say the Moderna vaccine canât arrive soon enough.
Hospital leaders at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana are waiting on the arrival of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Loren Robinson said Christus St. Michael is slated to receive 100 doses.
