After reviewing the preliminary conclusions of the independent investigators conducting the internal review, and after carefully examining the body camera footage of the incident with my own staff, it s obvious that four of the deputies never fired their weapons and deserve to be reinstated to active duty, Wooten said in the Thursday statement. ....

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – Protests continued Thursday hours after Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten released the names of seven deputies involved in the fatal shooting of Andrew Brown Jr. on April 21.
All seven were placed on administrative leave after the shooting, but a review of body-camera footage shows four of the deputies never fired a weapon, Wooten said in the release. Those deputies have been reinstated to active duty. ....

FOUR out of the seven deputies involved in the deadly warrant-serving confrontation with Andrew Brown Jr are back on active duty.
Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten said on Thursday that after review of bodycam footage, the officers were returned to patrol from administrative leave as they did not fire their service weapons during the April 21 incident.

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten on Thursday released the names of the seven officers placed on administrative leave after Andrew Brown Jr. was shot and killed outside his home in Elizabeth City last week.
Meanwhile, protesters returned to Elizabeth City for the ninth consecutive night on Thursday, and a city councilman said if protesters remain peaceful that the city’s curfew could be lifted Friday. ....
