Police: House unfit for animals | News, Sports, Jobs

Allegheny Township po­­lice filed animal-cruelty charges Monday against two residents after the couple’s pets were discovered living in a home “not habitable for animals,” court documents stated.
Ashleigh Savercool, 21, and Antonio Savercool, 23, are each facing numerous animal-care charges, including animal cruelty, animal neglect and not vaccinating pets against rabies, according to court documents.
In April, an anonymous caller informed police the Savercools’ cats and three dogs were left unattended for days at a residence on the 100 block of Zimmerman Lane, police reported.
While court documents list the Savercools’ address as Cumberland, Md., police noted the Savercools were known to reside at the reported location. ....

Dorothy M. Dimond, 95, of Altoona, formerly of Lakemont, passed away Sunday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Alban and Mary (Kyle) Dimond.
Dottie is survived by her son, Robert C. “Neil” Dimond; a special nephew and niece, whom she helped raise, Charles Andrews and Kathy Meckley. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and her daughter-in-law, Timberlee Randolph.
Dottie worked while attending school at Shaffer Stores Co. on 31st Street in Altoona. She was a graduate from Hollidaysburg High School and went on to work 37 years at Treese’s Drug Store in Hollidaysburg. ....

Gary D. Snowberger, 66, of Roaring Spring, suddenly passed away Thursday morning at UPMC Altoona after an apparent heart attack. He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Paul E. and Geraldine (Taylor) Snowberger.

Anna Mae “Ann” Butler, 96, of Duncansville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday. She was born in Westover, Clearfield County, daughter of the late Benjamin and Della Roland Peters Butler.
Ann is survived by a special great-niece, Donna Reynolds, and her husband, Raymond; also by great-nieces, Tammy Brochetti and Cecelia Kraweski; great-great-nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
