The Special Adviser to the Governor of Enugu State on Water Resources, Anthony Onyia, has reassured residents of the state that the issue of inadequate water supply, one of the key challenges the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi inherited, will soon be history.
In a statement, Mr Onyia maintained that the present administration is doing a lot, with the lean resources at its disposal, to address the issue of water in Enugu metropolis.
Noting that some areas in Enugu metropolis, such as, Iva Valley, GRA, New Haven, Ogui/Asata, Uwani, parts of Achara Layout, Abakpa Nike, Trans Ekulu, Independence Layout and Thinkers Corner, enjoy adequate potable water supply, Mr Onyia reassured residents in other areas that they will soon enjoy sufficient water supply. ....

NIGERIA: FordMarx to rehabilitate the drinking water network of the Enugu State

In Nigeria, the government of Enugu State has just appointed the engineering company FordMarx Nigeria to carry out the complete rehabilitation of the water supply network in the 9th Mile Crash Programme in Enugu. The local government has released 600 million Nigerian naira (nearly US$1.6 million) for the implementation of the project, which will eventually provide 28,000 cubic metres of water per day to the people of Enugu.
The government of Enugu State wants to strengthen the supply of drinking water to its populations. On 12 January 2021, it signed a contract with FordMarx Nigeria for the rehabilitation of the drinking water network of the 9 ....
