Pamela Kim Lippy


Pamela Kim Lippy, 65, of Taneytown, Md., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at the Dove House in Westminster, Md., with her husband, Michael, at her side.
Born October 1, 1955, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (McCleaf) Gonder. She was the devoted wife of Michael Lippy, to whom she was married for 34 years.
Pam earned two master’s degrees in education from the former Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College, in Westminster, Md. She was a teacher with Frederick County Public Schools for 38 years. She attended Gates of Praise Worship Center in Littlestown.
Pam enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling on cruises, playing the organ in church, and swimming in her pool. She loved animals, especially cats, of which she had many throughout her life. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends. ....

Gertrude D. 'Trudy' Conway


Dr. Gertrude D. “Trudy” Conway, professor emerita, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, at home surrounded by her loved ones after an extended illness. She was 70.
Trudy began her distinguished career teaching philosophy at Mount Saint Mary’s University in 1979, when she returned to the United States with her husband, Abdolreza (“Huschang”) Banan, from Iran, where she and Dr. Banan taught at Shiraz University.
In addition to the decades she spent in the classroom, mentoring students and faculty alike, she found time to write several books, multiple scholarly articles, serve as associate dean of the college, begin the University Honors Program, and initiate a study abroad program that would become the model for the Mount’s foreign studies program today. ....

Patrick Bernard Hugh Boyle


Mr. Patrick Bernard Hugh Boyle, 87, of Emmitsburg, Md., passed away of heart failure on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at George Washington University Hospital. He was born in Emmitsburg on August 12, 1933, to the late Bernard Hugh Boyle and Mary Bollinger Boyle.
Pat received his education from St. Euphemia’s Catholic School and St. Joseph High School, where he played varsity basketball and baseball. He then attended the University of Maryland where he was a member of the Gymkhana Troup.
When duty called, he joined the Army and served his country from October 1953 to October 1955 and continued his support through his membership in the American Legion. ....

On Sunday, June 27, 2021, Darryl Ray Sanders passed away at the age of 52.
Darryl was born on May 20, 1969, to Glendol and Linda (Warehime) Sanders. Darryl was father to Ashley Sanders and Courtney Sanders. Darryl was also known to Shelby Castor and Anthony Castor as Dad. He will forever be known by his grandchildren as Pappy; Jocelyn, Mercury, Rylee, Marissa and Sophia. Darryl has left behind his wife Belinda Sanders and best friend for 23-plus years; Westley Sanders, his brother, and Melissa, his sister-in-law; plus many friends and family that loved him dearly.
Darryl loved to race cars and to build them. He was an excellent mechanic and was sent by Kia to California to compete and won second place on the East Coast 2010. Darryl had a passion for the outdoors. He also loved to hunt and he combined his two favorite hobbies to become a Wildlife Game Officer. ....
