MORAGA, Calif. - The California Department of Fish and Wildlife on Friday announced that the coyote behind five attacks in the East Bay has been caught and euthanized.
Fish and Game Capt. Patrick Foy said the coyote walked into a trap on Thursday, which had been set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture off Calle de Montana in Moraga. 
Foy said this unusually aggressive coyote attacked children on July 9 and February 16, and three men on Dec. 4 and 15 and Feb. 19.  ....

An unusually aggressive coyote that attacked five people in the Lafayette-Moraga area of Contra Costa County over the past eight months was caught and euthanized Thursday, state fish and wildlife officials said.
DNA testing on the coyote matched that found on bite victims, according to a news release from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
While there is no evidence the animal was rabid, UC Davis veterinary staff will be conducting rabies tests on the carcass as a precaution.
It is the most aggressive behavior on the part of a coyote I ve seen in my 24 years, said Capt. Patrick Foy of the state wildlife agency. I ve near heard of a coyote attacking and biting five people. ....

Search continues for coyote linked to Lafayette and Moraga attacks | Lafayette

For the past eight months, a lone coyote has been attributed to five DNA confirmed attacks within Lafayette and Moraga which have taken place primarily at dusk or dawn.
The first attack, on July 9, 2020, involved a 2-year-old boy near the parking lot restrooms at the Moraga Commons Park. A second attack, on Dec. 4, took place at the Campolindo High School stadium where a man was bitten while exercising. Another attack came on Dec. 15 behind Lafayette s Diablo Foods while an employee was taking a break. The next incident occurred on Feb. 16 when a 3-year-old girl was bitten during a walk with her mother two blocks away from Campolindo on Calle La Montana. The most recent attack on an adult male came Feb. 19 near the Kwik Stop in Lafayette. ....
