A police Sergeant, Mr Kabiru Isah, has been rewarded with a sum of N100,000 for his honesty after returning N1.2m found on a deceased accident victim to his relatives in Kano State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abdullahi Haruna, said this in a statement on Saturday.
Haruna said the policeman attached to the command’s Motor Traffic Division recovered the money while inspecting an accident scene on the Kano-Zaria Road.
He said an articulated vehicle had knocked down a motorcycle rider, who died on the spot, adding that the victim was in possession of the money packed in a box. ....

police sergeant attached to Kano Command’s Motor Traffic Division (MTD), Kabiru Isah, has been commended for returning over one million naira (N1,294,200.00) he recovered from the scene of a fatal accident.
A statement issued by police spokesperson in Kano, Abdullahi Haruna, on Friday said the officer found the money while “conducting scene analysis”, minutes after the fatal accident.
N1.2m found at the scene of the accident.
Mr Haruna said the owner of the money was knocked down from a motorcycle he was riding by a trailer along Zaria Road Kano and died. ....

LUNA COUNTY – New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Ofc. Darian Jarrott initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet pickup Feb. 4, on Interstate 10 eastbound, near mile marker 102 east of Deming.
During the traffic stop, Ofc. Jarrott asked the driver, identified as Omar Felix Cueva, 39, of Deming to exit the vehicle.
Cueva exited the driver’s side holding an AR-15 style rifle and fired at least one shot at Ofc. Jarrott as he was walking to the rear of the vehicle. Ofc. Jarrott ducked and fell onto his back as Cueva ran around the back of the pickup toward Ofc. Jarrott. ....
