GUWAHATI: The Government of Assam has introduced the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council Bill-2020 . Minister for the Welfare of Plain Tribes & Backward Classes (WPT&BC), Chandan Brahma placed the Bill on the first day of the winter session in the Assam Assembly on Monday. Moreover, under the The Assam Official Language (Amendment) Bill, 2020 , step has been taken to make the Bodo language an associate official language across the State. The three-day winter session of the Assam Assembly commenced on Monday, following Covid-19 protocols. Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he will introduce a bill to repeal provincialisation of Madrassas.
Today I shall introduce a Bill to repeal Provincialisation of Madrassa. Once the Bill is passed, the practice of running Madrassa by the Government in Assam will come to an end, a practice which was started by Muslim League govt in pre-Independence Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted. ....
