No fewer than 17 people were roasted alive in a ghastly motor accident at Olokonla, along Bode-Saadu-Jebba Expressway in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Also, 11persons sustained severe injuries in the auto crash The road traffic crash involving three vehicles, a blue colour commercial Mark Truck GGE614XM, white colour commercial Mitsubishi Canter Truck BRK534YX, and white colour Toyota Hummer bus with registration number KEY479YE, occurred at about 3:00 am yesterday.
An eyewitness told Sunday Vanguard that loss of control by the driver of the Toyota bus, while he was trying to overtake a lorry loaded with pepper and a truck that was ahead of him, resulted in a head-on collision with another truck that was coming from another lane. ....

Twenty persons reportedly lost their lives with 17 of them roasted to death in a fatal road accident at Olokonla, along the Bode-Saadu-Jebba Expressway in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State on Saturday.
One person, however, survived the auto crash uninjured.
The Kwara State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Jonathan Owoade and the director of the state Fire Service, Falade Olumuyiwa confirmed the accident.
“Following the First information Report (FIR) of the road traffic crash from the unit commander in charge of RS 8.11 Bode Saadu Unit command ACC A Ibrahim in the early hours of Saturday, 30/1/2021, the multiple road traffic crash occurred at about 0300hours at a location called Olokonla area which involved three vehicles (Blue commercial Mark Truck GGE614XM, White commercial Mitsubishi canter Truck BRK534YX and White Toyota Hummer bus KEY479YE). ....

Abdullahi Salihu resided in the Lokogoma area of Lokoja before relocating to Felele, Kogi State, where his cousin, a Muslim cleric, Idris Yusuf, lives with members of his family. Together, the cousins were striving to achieve their dreams of giving their children sound education and a good life.
But their plans were cut short on September 23, 2020, in the most horrific way. A tanker explosion killed 28 persons with six of their children among the victims. Abdullahi lost four of his children, while Idris lost two. Aisha, Aisha Jnr, Wasila, Faiza, Ibrahim and Abdul-Mutallib were heading for school in a bus when the explosion consumed them. Jebba explosion: Ilorin Emirate youths seek succour for victims

Ilorin, Dec. 25, 2020 The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has called on the Kwara government to provide succour to the victims of Wednesday’s tanker explosion in Jebba, Moro Local Government Area of the state.
The association made the call in a statement jointly signed by its National President, Alhaji Babatunde Salaudeen and the Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Uthman Jagunma.
In the statement, a copy of which was made available to newsmen on Friday in Ilorin, the association said that the call had become necessary due to the economic hardship inflicted on the victims by the disaster.
“The state government needs to rally round the affected traders, as most of them now rely on loans from microfinance banks and other financial institutions to run their businesses”, it said. ....
