Volkswagen truck unit makes $2.9 billion cash offer to buy Navistar

CHICAGO Volkswagen’s commercial truck unit, Traton, has made an unsolicited $2.9 billion cash offer to take over the Lisle, Ill.-based truck manufacturer Navistar International.
