The Lamar County Sheriff s Office has charged James Henry Elrod III with two counts of murder for the April 26 deaths of a 38-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man in northwestern Lamar County.
The deceased are identified as Ronald Edward Hostetler Jr., 53, from Paris and Cassie Mullens Head, 38, from Wright City, Oklahoma. Our thoughts and prayers go out to both families in their tragic loss, Sheriff Scott Cass said.
Deputies were dispatched to a deceased person call on April 26 in northwest Lamar County, where two bodies were discovered, Cass said. Detectives learned a vehicle was missing from the residence belonging to the family of the deceased man. Detectives also learned that James Elrod III and Carylon Lynell Elrod were living at the home, and they were missing.

A Lamar County jury sentenced a 32-year-old Roxton resident to 99 years in prison Monday after a one-day trial, according to information from the Lamar County District Attorneyâs office.
A jury found Brady Allan Goss, a registered sex offender, guilty of solicitation of a minor, according to information from First Assistant District Attorney Benjamin Kaminar.
âThe defendant used the Facebook Messenger application to contact someone he believed was a 14-year old girl,â Kaminar said. âOver the court of several conversations, he repeatedly discussed meeting for sex and described specific sexual acts he desired from her.â
Unknown to the defendant, Oklahoma law enforcement had control of the Facebook account and conducted a sting operation in partnership with the Lamar County Sheriffâs Office. The defendant was captured at a meetup location and confessed to the offense, Kaminar said.

Lyle Gran, 82, was found in Altus Oklahoma.

The McCurtain County Sheriff s office issued a silver alert for a missing 82-year-old Lyle Gran on Friday morning.
Gran was wearing black sweatpants and a shirt, driving a white Ford F250 with a license plate number BPD439.
According to Gran s wife, he also has a Dachshund with him.
Authorities say that Gran is in imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death.
