The ACCC is taking more bits out of Apple, finds it a bit sour.
The ACCC s continuing investigation against Apple regarding it s warranty is still going on, but with Apple refusing to budge on it s policies, the result might be an increase in mobile plan fees. Apple are refusing to let Telco s (like Telstra, Optus, etc) to offer repair services for the Apple iPhone.
Last week,
I posted about Telstra now offering 24 months warranty on their handsets, with Apple s iPhone excluded. The ACCC is still pushing for 24 month contracts to have 24 month warranty included.
ACCC chairman, Graeme Samuel said Apple is being difficult . He said that if Apple continue to not be cooperative, the manufacturer would most likely charge it carrier partners for an additional 12 month warranty with iPhones bundled in 24 month plans. ....

Doha: Scattered rain of varying intensity, which may be thundery in some areas accompanied by sudden strong wind and blowing dust sometimes, were observed in the northern parts of Qatar in the morning, Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) said.
Most parts of Doha witnessed strong wind and cloudy skies from morning. Light rain was
“Partly cloudy to cloudy at times with chances of scattered rain which may be thundery sometimes. The winds are Southeasterly to Northeasterly reaching strong speed with thundery rain, please be careful Qatar,” QMD tweeted.

The April ISM Manufacturing report delivered a steep decline that caught everyone off guard. Given some impressive Fed regional surveys, a strong beat was expected by many. Today’s miss is not really terrible, but perhaps a reminder that the Fed surveys only cover a portion of the country and miss a good part of the West Coast. Expectations with US data may have become too optimistic, but this first look at April suggests the recovery is firmly in place, albeit at a slower pace. US stocks did not know how to react to the ISM data. Slowing growth along with soaring pricing pressures is somewhat a vindication for the Fed’s cautious stance but not necessarily supportive that inflation will be transitory. ....
