Dismay over mindless vandalism at Wick riverside footbridges

Vandals who targeted the two Coghill footbridges at Wick s riverside have been branded mindless idiots .
Allan Farquhar, vice-chairperson of the Royal Burgh of Wick Community Council, counted at least a dozen mesh panels that he said had either been kicked or struck with a heavy object.
A handrail was also broken, and that too may have been deliberate.
Mt Farquhar warned that further damage to the popular crossings could ultimately lead to them being closed to the public. ....
