Harnoor Singh Earns Board of Regents KUDOS Award

The Nebraska Board of Regents presented a KUDOS Award to Harnoor Singh, Director of Student Development for the Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarship Program within the University of Nebraska at Omaha s Division of Student Success, as part of its February meeting.
Harnoor joined UNO in 2015 and was asked to lead the transformation of the Student Service and Leadership Collaborative, the Maverick Food Pantry and the refreshing of the Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarship Program, a premier and increasingly-renowned development program for 128 competitively-selected Nebraska high school graduates pursuing degrees in STEM fields.
The program is a partnership between UNO and the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation with a mission to support and develop the future leaders of Nebraska through a living-and-learning community; mentoring and coaching programming; supplemental learning, including leadership and life skills; participation in impactful community service; and connecting stu ....

MSU Mankato addresses hunger on campus with free groceries now, food pantry in the spring

Inside the Intercultural Student Center on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato earlier this week, more than a hundred boxes packed with food were stacked against the walls and lined up in the middle of an office. Back in the freezer, eight hams weighing in at 18 pounds each sat ready to become a part of some students’ holiday meals.
This was the second week of free food distribution at the MSU Mankato campus for students in need of an extra hand with groceries during an already challenging year. It’s part of a larger university effort to connect students nationwide, a population adding to the ranks of those experiencing food insecurity with regular, affordable access to food on campus. ....

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The Maverick Food Pantry provides students who have food insecurities with weekly boxes of perishable and non perishable food items.
Students do not have to be living on campus and will just need to show their student I.D.
âWith the pandemic and lots of students losing jobs, not having jobs, a lot of food insecurity.the decision by the cabinet and the President, Mr. Davenport, was that this was the time to do it, to help our students continue to be successful,âsaid MSU Diversity & Inclusion Diversity Officer Henry Morris. ....
