Madison Square Garden to host professional women s hockey for first time

Madison Square Garden will host a professional women s hockey game for the first time on Feb. 28, when the Professional Women s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) plays a game to launch its 2021 Dream Gap Tour.
The PWHPA partnered with the Rangers to put on the game, making New York the first NHL team to host a PWHPA game.
This is a major milestone for women s hockey and young girls who aspire to play professional hockey but don t have the option to make it a career today, PWHPA operations consultant Jayna Hefford said in a news release.
