Redditch woman to climb Yorkshire Three Peaks in memory of loved ones

A REDDITCH woman who lost two loved ones within 12 months will be climbing Yorkshire’s highest peaks in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Shanna Jenkins will take part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in July to raise vital funds for the charity’s life saving research into heart and circulatory diseases.
The 36-year-old was inspired to take part in the event in memory of her mum and her partner’s father, who both died after having a cardiac arrest.
Shanna’s mum Carol had a heart attack which caused a sudden cardiac arrest, at her home in Worcester, in May 2019. ....

Radiography students raise money for mental health charity

A group of radiography students from the University of Liverpool have come together for a end of study challenge to raise money for a mental health charity.
Third-year students, Jess, Lucy, Kate, Natasha, Georgia, Lucy, Alex and Ben who are training at Arrowe Park Hospital, will be raising money for North West mental health charity, The Martin Gallier Project.
To mark this year s World Radiography Day, the students have decided to raise awareness around suicide due to the increased impact from Covid-19.

Meet the Somerset man who has shed 16 stone and completed a marathon

IN just 15 months, this 31.5 stone (441lbs) Somerset man who “couldn’t fit in a cinema seat” lost 16.2 stone (228lbs) and completed a full marathon.
Rob Sparkes, 31, says that he was motivated to change his body when he realized he didn’t have the energy to play with his children.
Since that realization in late 2019 Sparks has shed over 200 pounds, runs a half marathon nearly every weekend, and weighs just 216 pounds.
“Before, I couldn t even walk up a flight of stairs without feeling out of breath,” said Sparkes, a salesman from Weston-super-Mare.
“I couldn’t fit in a cinema seat.
“I couldn’t go on rides at the play park with my daughter.” ....
