TWO MAJOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS CONTINUE IN YUCCA VALLEY

Two major traffic projects continue this week in the Town of Yucca Valley.
Construction on the Yucca Trail Safety Improvement Project will continue on Yucca Trail from Warren Vista Avenue to Palomar Avenue this week. The project includes widening Warren Vista north and south of Yucca Trail to include left hand turns at intersections and through lanes.
The intersection of Palomar Avenue and Yucca Trail will also be under construction. The project will widen Palomar Avenue, remove existing traffic signals and install new poles, pavement striping, and signal timing and detection.
Both projects are set to be complete this month. ....

YUCCA TRAIL AND PALOMAR ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS CONTINUE

Construction is continuing on two projects in Yucca Valley: the Yucca Trail Safety Improvement Project and the Palomar Avenue Widening Project. The Yucca Trail project will widen Yucca Trail to 12-foot travel lanes from Warren Vista Avenue to Palomar Avenue, add 8-foot shoulders, and a 12-foot center striped median with left-turn lanes at intersections. Warren Vista will also be widened at the intersection at Yucca Trail to include left-hand turns and turn lanes. The Palomar Avenue Project will widen Palomar Avenue, replace traffic signals, and will repave and re-stripe the traffic lanes. Both projects are expected to be completed in February. ....

ROAD CONSTRUCTION ONGOING IN YUCCA VALLEY, PROGRESS MEETING MONDAY

Construction began this week on two major road projects in Yucca Valley: the Palomar Avenue Widening Project and the Yucca Trail Safety Improvement Project. Both projects are expected to be completed in January. The town will hold progress meetings for residents. The Palomar project consists of widening Palomar Trail at the intersection with Yucca Trail. Traffic signals will also be replaced, and new striping painted on the pavement.
The Yucca Trail Safety Improvement Project consists of widening Yucca Trail from Warren Vista Avenue to the Palomar Avenue intersection. The project will add 8-foot shoulders, 12-foot travel lanes, and a 12-foot center median with left turn pockets at intersections. ....

Students at local schools will not be going back to classrooms anytime soon. The Morongo Unified School District Board of Education reported in open session today, that Morongo Unified School District will remain on the Distance Learning/ Independent Study model for the remainder of the 2020/2021 school year concluding in June 2021. Due to ever-changing state restrictions, the district will to remain on its current model for the safety and well being of its students, teachers and staff. The District said they recognize this will pose continued challenges for many families. A district press release said, “The board and districts decision is based on local data related to safety, and the second surge of the coronavirus that is currently impacting our county, our cities, and our school district significantly.” ....
