UNIONTOWN A man wanted by law enforcement for stabbing two females early Wednesday has been found dead, apparently of self-inflicted means.
Edward Reed, 49, who resided at a house on Uniontown-Flushing Road in the Uniontown area was found near the residence in the early afternoon. Authorities including Belmont County Sheriff’s deputies and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were on the lookout for Reed and had put the word out since the two victims, his wife and daughter, reportedly fled and called for help from another home. A dog was also found in the residence, apparently stabbed to death that morning. ....

Law enforcement officials locate the body of Edward Reed on Wednesday near his Uniontown residence. Reed apparently took his own life after stabbing his wife and daughter and a dog at the residence. The mother and daughter are hospitalized and receiving treatment.
UNIONTOWN An early-morning manhunt for the suspect in the stabbing of two people ended Wednesday afternoon when Edward Reed was found dead.
Reed, 49, who lived at a house on Ohio 331, Uniontown-Flushing Road, in the Uniontown area, apparently took his own life. The two victims were Reed’s wife and daughter.
“The husband stabbed the wife and daughter at the residence,” Belmont County Chief Deputy James Zusack said. “The wife and daughter luckily got out and called us from a nearby residence.” ....
