Wanted: manager for new Speyside distillery

The Cairn is due to open next spring

VENERABLE Scotch whisky company Gordon & MacPhail is on the hunt for a candidate to run its new Speyside distillery.
The Elgin-based merchant is looking for a distillery manager to run The Cairn, which is currently being built at Craggan – billed as the “gateway” to the famous whisky region.
The distillery, which will be the company’s second after the Benromach in Forres, is due to open next spring.
Gordon & MacPhail said the new general manager will play a key role in developing The Cairn, which will be focused on “creating the next generation of whisky excellence”. ....

French border delays add to 'perfect storm' for local fish processing company

A SHETLAND seafood processing company is holding off from exporting fresh fish to the European Union until the current delays experienced at the French border have been sorted.
Robert Williamson of Scalloway-based QA Fish said because the post-Brexit trade deal had only been reached days before the end of the transition period, companies have had next to no time to prepare for the new export regime, which requires a lot of additional paperwork.
